We want to take a moment to congratulate some of our dispatchers for reaching some career milestones. Stacy Elliott has been on the headset for 15 years and is a constant consistent voice not only to our Police/Fire personnel but to the citizens of Springdale. She's a calm within a chaotic scene and we are very grateful for her service that she provides to the city. We also want to recognize, Roxanna Andrade, Monseratt Gordillo, Jessica Arellano, Brianna Preciado, Isaiah Terwilliger, Electa Cone, and Brandi Burgess for getting their one year anniversary pin. They have all been released on all three disciplines and two have been promoted to a quality assurance position and one to a lead position. Congratulations to all and thank you for your service. If you would like to be part of this amazing team we have openings in our dispatch center. Starting pay is $40,916.00. Applications can be found at www.springdalear.gov/o/spd/page/employment-information.

Have that important text, notification, insta, or snap coming in as you get into school. Put it down and wait. Using a cellphone while driving is dangerous, even more in busy school zones. Have a safe and fun school year!!

We want to say thank you to Vicki Satterfield for her 42 years of service to the Springdale Police Department. She began her career as a dispatcher July 27, 1981 until May of 1989 when she moved to booking entering arrests and tickets. In 2005 Vicki moved to records and ends her time with us in CID. Luckily she won't be too far and is moving downstairs and down the hall, greeting all those that come into City Hall. Again we say thanks and good luck on the next adventure. You will be missed.

As school transportation begins, please be patient and lets keep the students safe to and from school. A huge Thank You to all of the bus drivers!! Passing a stopped school bus (27-51-1004). When a school bus stops, displays alternating warning lights for the purpose of loading or unloading passengers; all vehicles must come to a complete stop no less than 30 feet in any direction. Motorists should not begin to start nor pass a stopped bus until the bus has finished receiving or discharging the passengers and begins in motion along any public road, street, highway or private property open to the public or K-12 private or public school.
