Long Time City Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Springdale to Retire After 46 Years of Public Service


SPRINGDALE, ARKANSAS. After serving the City and its citizens with love and dedication over 46 years, City Clerk/Treasurer, Denise Pearce, is set to retire effective December 31, 2024.
Denise was hired at age 17 in 1978 by Mida Neff and Mayor Roy Ritter as a part-time secretary in the City Clerkā€™s office. After graduating from Springdale High School in 1979, Denise began working full-time under Midaā€™s direction. Shortly thereafter in 1980, Denise married her husband, Mike, and in 1990 and 1991 they brought home their daughter, Megan and their son, Eric.  
When Mida Neff announced her retirement in 1995, Denise was appointed to be the next City Clerk/Treasurer for Springdale and for the last 29 years has been serving in her position with grace and gratitude. Denise participated in the 3rd City of Springdale Leadership Class from 1997-1998 and earned her Certified Municipal Clerk designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in 2002. Denise has worked in three City Hall buildings with four Mayors throughout her tenure with the City of Springdale.
Sabra Jeffus was elected to be the next City Clerk/Treasurer and will be sworn in on January 2, 2025.
The City of Springdale will host a retirement party in honor of Denise, her leadership and her years of service to the City, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, December 27th at Springdale City Hall.  The public is invited to attend.
