Doug Sprouse is a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas. He grew up in Springdale, where he and his family operated a small business for 35 years. From 1999-2008, he served on the Springdale School Board, serving as president from 2005 to 2007. In November of 2008, he was elected mayor of the City of Springdale. He was re-elected in 2012 , 2016, and 2020 without opposition. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Regional Mobility Authority, the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District, and as a member of the State 911 Board. He also chairs the Chief Elected Officials of the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District. He served as president of the Arkansas Municipal League in 2017-2018 and continues to serve as a member of the Past President’s Advisory Council. He and his wife, Sandy, have 3 married children and 9 grandchildren, all living in Northwest Arkansas.
