Results of the City of Springdale public transportation needs assessment

Public Transit Meeting

The City of Springdale held two public meetings and distributed a survey to gauge the need for additional transportation services in the city.

This needs assessment was conducted as a result of the October 31 City Council Committee Meeting. Two taxi companies requested permission to begin operating in Springdale, and the City Councilors asked for additional information regarding the public transportation need in Springdale.

Multiple City Council members and the Mayor participated in the public meetings. Survey and meeting data is being reviewed by the Mayor and City Council as they decide whether to expand taxi services in Springdale. They will discuss the results of the needs assessment at the December 19 City Council Committee Meeting, however, no decisions will be made at that meeting. They will make a determination regarding the two taxi companies at a later date.

This data will also be used as part of a larger, regional discussion of public transportation needs in NWA, and it will be considered in future discussions of public transportation in Springdale.

We appreciate everyone who completed the survey and participated in the public meetings.

Here is a summary of the survey results and notes from the public meetings.
