Downtown Springdale Alliance Announces Lineup of Holiday Festivities

Christmas on the Creek

The Downtown Springdale Alliance (DSA) is pleased to announce the lineup of multiple Christmas events taking place during the holiday season, all of which combine to make up the city’s 2nd Annual Christmas on the Creek presented by Tyson Foods.


DSA executive director, Kelly Hale Syer, said, “The Christmas holiday season offers so many wonderful ways for people to come together, and the Downtown Springdale Alliance team is truly excited to see multiple businesses, organizations and individuals enthusiastically join forces to make this very special time of year so memorable for the community. We want to especially thank Tyson Foods for very generously supporting Christmas on the Creek in Downtown Springdale as the presenting sponsor for a whole array of public events.”


Call for Ornaments – Decorate the Community Christmas Tree

November 6 thru November 17


Community members, clubs, non-profits, businesses, and organizations are invited to purchase one or more 12-inch wooden ornaments to pick up, decorate and return to the Downtown Springdale Alliance (110 W. Emma Avenue) to be placed on the region’s largest live Christmas tree.


Ornaments may be purchased for $10 online at https://downtownspringdale.org/product/call-for-ornaments and picked up during regular business hours starting November 6. Local delivery possible for orders of five or more ornaments.


Photos with Santa

Saturday, November 25, 12 – 5 p.m.
Shiloh Museum of Ozark History


Children and families will have the opportunity to meet the “real” Santa Claus at the rustic cabin located at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History from 12 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 25. Space is limited, so reservations are required in advance. 5”x7” photos are $15 apiece for each guest. Additional prints of the same photo are available for an additional $5 per print.

Handmade Winter Market

Saturday, November 25, 2 – 6 p.m.
Shiloh Square Pavilion


Artists, crafters, and makers from across the region will be invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Handmade Winter Market under Shiloh Square Pavilion. This event will take place in conjunction with Christmas on the Creek and will feature handcrafted items just in time for holiday giving.

Springdale Fantasy Tree Farm


Open House, Saturday, November 25, 2 – 6 p.m. – Additional hours through December 7
Location: 101 East Emma Avenue


The Springdale Fantasy Tree Farm is back for its second year to showcase a beautiful display of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands from area partners and individuals! Downtown Springdale Alliance, in partnership with Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shop, will kick off the open house reception, silent auction bidding and Christmas tree raffle on November 25. Fully decorated trees and holiday items will be on display and available for bidding each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Thursday, December 7, 2017 when Downtown Springdale Alliance will host a closing reception and party.

Student Sculpture Exhibit

Saturday, November 25, 3-6 p.m.
Shiloh Square Pavilion


The Boston Mountain Solid Waste District is inviting students K-12 from Washington and Madison Counties to create a sculpture using only recycled materials. These lovely sculptures will go on display to the public during Christmas on the Creek for “People’s Choice” voting and viewing. Stop by to support these talented area artists as they use their creativity for a good cause and generate awareness.


Downtown Springdale Community Tree Lighting

Saturday, November 25 – 5:30 p.m.
Location: Shiloh Square


Everyone is invited to be part of the celebration as Mayor Doug Sprouse illuminates the region’s largest live Christmas tree display. The crowd is encouraged to come early to enjoy holiday music and then join in the singing of carols after the lighting ceremony and leading up to the 21st Annual Christmas Parade of the Ozarks.

Saturday, November 25 – 6 p.m.
Location: Emma Avenue (Parade travels east to west from Parsons Stadium/Rodeo Grounds)


More than 6,000 people make this parade part of their holiday tradition each year, and 2017’s theme is “Christmas around the World.” Businesses or organizations interested in participating with a float are encouraged to complete and submit an online form at http://rodeooftheozarks.org/.
