Springdale Building Department sees a spike in commercial and residential building permits

The City of Springdale Building Department reports that their office has issued 41 commercial building permits so far this year. By comparison, they had issued 13 by this time last year and 19 by this time in 2015. Commercial permit sales this year represent 496,326 square feet with an estimated value of more than $49.6 million dollars.

The Building Department has also issued 247 residential single family permits so far this year, compared to 199 at this time last year. This represents 659,748 square feet with a value of more than $68.5 million as of Aug. 8, 2017.

"Commercial and residential permit increases are an indication that businesses and families are choosing to invest in our community," said Mayor Doug Sprouse. "We are one of the fastest growing cities in the country, and it's important that our development is able to keep up with the pace."

Total permits for the City of Springdale are up by more than 18%. The total value of the permits is estimated at $133,040,529.39
