Work started to improve S. 48th St. and Jennifer Terrace

Jennifer Terrace and S. 48th St.

This week, Center Point Contractors, hired by Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust, began working on a project to improve S. 48th St. and Jennifer Terrace.

At the Feb. 14, 2017 City Council Meeting, the Council voted to authorize Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust to improve S. 48th Street and Jennifer Terrace for the purpose of alleviating congestion around the Wal-Mart Marketplace. Wal-Mart intends to widen Jennifer Terrace and S. 48th Street to add designated right turn lanes to both roads.

Construction began this week on S. 48th St. and the contractor estimates the project will be complete by the end of August.

This is not a City of Springdale project, though we are permitting Wal-Mart to work on City right-of-way. There will be no financial obligation on the part of the City for this work. However, since they are using the City’s right-of-way, we will maintain heavy involvement in this project, as we would in any project that uses City right-of-way.
