City working to repair and rebuild after the flood

As a result of the flooding that occurred on Saturday, April 29, Springdale sustained significant damage to the sum of $3.375 million.

This includes damage to the following locations:

  • Pump Station Bridge (currently closed)
  • Lake Springdale Trailhead (currently closed)
  • The Mountain Bike trail (currently closed)
  • N. 56th St. Bridge
  • A portion of the Razorback Greenway, just north of Huntsville Ave.

Ahead of the Square 2 Square Bicycle Ride on Saturday, May 13, Milestone Construction, who are currently building Walter Turnbow Park, helped to repair the section of the Greenway that was damaged. Walter Turnbow Park did not sustain any damage in the flood. The full Greenway will be open in time for the Saturday event, however, users should use caution going southbound due to a safety fence that has been installed next to the trail edge north of Huntsville Ave.

We are still working to repair and rebuild around the city after the flood. We have submitted a summary of damage to Washington and Benton counties, and we are preparing additional documentation for FEMA. We appreciate your patience as we work to rebuild the areas of our city that were damaged.
