Public Input Session for Downtown Springdale Open Space

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

The City of Springdale and the Downtown Springdale Alliance invite residents to share ideas regarding open space in Downtown Springdale. A public meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m. on June 20 at the Arts Center of the Ozarks located at 214 South Main Street.

In 2015 through a public engagement process, a Master Plan was created and adopted by the Springdale City Council to encourage economic development and revitalization in Downtown Springdale. The plan identified 12 Revitalization Principles including expanding and reconfiguring Luther George Park as a major downtown amenity linked to Emma Avenue and surrounding neighborhoods.

This public meeting is intended to build upon the principles of the Master Plan and encourage residents and business owners to share their ideas and identify community needs as they relate to open space in the downtown area. Ideas from the meeting will help inform the design of an Open Space Plan for Downtown Springdale.

The meeting will begin with a brief presentation by consultants Ecological Design Group at 6 p.m. Afterward, the public will be invited to share their ideas.

We encourage everyone who has an interest in the future of Downtown Springdale to attend and participate. This process can only be effective if we hear diverse voices from around Springdale.

Anyone needing special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is encouraged to contact Kelly Syer by phone at (479) 236-4256, or email kelly@downtownspringdale.org. Language assistance for Limited English Proficient individuals is available upon request.
