Request a Child Safety Restraint Check or Receive a Safety Seat Loan
In cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Arkansas Highway Safety Office (HSO), The Springdale Police Department loans child safety seats to the public (free of charge) and provides child safety seat checks to ensure proper installation. The program cannot fully evaluate the quality, safety, or condition of your child safety seat or any component of your vehicle, but trained Child Safety Seat Technicians can properly install child safety restraints to reduce the possibility of injury and/or death in the event of a traffic collision. A properly used and installed safety seat can reduce fatal injury by 71% for infants and by 54% for toddlers. If the Springdale Police Department loans you a safety seat, the seat remains the property of the State of Arkansas and is intended solely for your child. The seats may not be re-loaned, given away, or sold. Loaned seats can be returned to the Springdale Police Department when your child outgrows the seat.
