Commercial Plan Review

The following applies to new construction, additions or alteration to ALL occupancy buildings OTHER THAN R3 (one & two family dwellings).
  • Plans will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis.
  • After the Plans Examiner has reviewed the plans a letter is generated listing items that do not meet the requirements of the code. The letter is sent to the design professional for revisions. If requirements are still not met a second letter will be sent and plans will not be approved until all requirements are satisfied.
  • The Plan review will normally take 2 to 3 weeks depending on the project.
  • The Plans Examiner will need 2 sets of plans sealed and signed by an Arkansas certified design professional. This will include architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. New commercial buildings require 3 sets of plans.
  • Any project that includes plumbing work will need state plumbing approval.
  • Springdale Planning Department approval is required for non large and large scale projects. After all of the above has been completed a permit approval letter will be sent out indicating that the project's permit is approved for issuance.
